I took Tom and Charity from Humble, Texas out today to show them the lake. It has been awhile since Tom has been on the lake and he wanted to get familiar with the lake for his upcoming tournament. I showed him some areas and a few techniques that are working right now. He should be able to easily put a limit in the boat with a carolina rig of a point with brush on it and then cull every fish in the well by fishing a trap and a jerkbait over a patch of grass. We didnt fish a whole lot but we did catch some when we did. He should do well with the grass pattern!

I had a half day trip on Thursday the 14th and full day on the 15th with Bruce Hampton and Kenny Hafner. They are high school buddies who have stayed in touch and they fish and golf together. We started out on Thursday afternoon in a cove that had some big bedding bass in it, I thought maybe wee could get a big girl in the boat quick but they weren't cooperating! We left the cove and entered into the deer stand where I have been catching alot of fish. It was really slow for some reason but we were able to boat a few on a feeding spree that occured around 4:00. Bruce and Kenny were staying at Jackson Hill Marina and the owners Terry and Connie Sympson cooked us a delicious supper! We talked about our day while having a glass of wine and I decided that I was going to head to Veach Basin in the morning. We woke up the next morning and took off from Jackson Hill around 7:00 and we were fishing by 7:20 in Veach Basin. We started boating fish not long after the first cast and continued to catch throughout the day. We probably caught 30 fish or so with the biggest around 4 lbs. Our primary bait was a texas rigged lizard in kudzu color with an 1/8 oz weight and of course with the tail dipped in spike it! Kenny did catch a couple on a swim jig but that was a slow bite.
